Wisdom Literature

A study of biblical wisdom literature in its Near Eastern context, the course examines how the perennial questions of life, death, suffering and justice were dealt with in biblical times. After a general overview of wisdom literature, the course concentrates on a specific theme and/or biblical book for more intensive study. (S) (lec 3) cr 3.
